The PCC aim to keep the buildings at St Annes, not merely accessible but welcoming. At present St Annes is funded exclusively by offertories and fund raising.

Kind donations enable us to fulfil the recommendations of the Quinquennial report which includes the following projects:

We are currently looking into a grant for replacing the heating system

Pointing required in several places to the outside wall.

Plastering and painting necessary to the Church interior, especially in the ringing gallery.

The electrical system needs checking and areas may need updating.

The Church Room roof needs attention.

Work needs to be done on the stability of the Tombs and Monuments.

Ongoing expenditure of grass cutting and tidying of the cemetery.

The role of PCC is to decide what is urgent and what can wait for further funding. With your help we will continue to ensure the buildings remain open to our visitors for many years to come. You can also support us by attending services and special events. Please see our Diary for a list of events. Together we can sustain the precious asset of our church and church room, now and for the future.

About Us

St Anne’s, the parish church of Siston, is an often overlooked architectural and artistic gem. As seen now, its fabric combines Saxon, Norman and medieval elements, and its origins probably go back to the ’Dark Age’ period following the end of the Roman occupation of Britain in the 5th century AD. It is likely that the original foundation related to St Anne’s association with the nearby Holy Well which was a place of pilgrimage for people seeking cures for eye disease. Whilst the central nave of the church may be attributed to Norman building in the 12th century, the western tower and the eastern chancel may be significantly earlier, and the whole building displays a charming amalgam of Romanesque and Gothic styles.
St Anne’s stands at the heart of our Village and brings our local community together for many different occasions, Sunday praise, christenings, weddings, burials, uplifting Christmas carols, talks and Community discussions.often overlooked
